Dark Gallery CPH er et kunstnerdrevet fotografisk udstillingssted, der samarbejder med kunstnere, fotografer, filmskabere og andre kreative med en historie på hjertet.
Galleriet har en eksperimentel tilgang og afsøger det kunstneriske krydsfelt mellem analoge/digitale teknologier, filmkunst og generativt kunstig intelligens.
Galleriet har fokus på fordybelse og fortælling. Vi har flere mørklagte ’Dark Spaces’, der tilbyder interaktive multimedieoplevelser. Vores mikroprojekter søger også at omdefinere rammen for kunstudstillinger i dialog med det offentlige rum.
Galleriet tager del i flere årlige kunst- og kulturfestivaler.
Vi er for tiden 8 helpartnere og 5 rookie-partnere. Vi repræsenterer 8 forskellige nationaliteter, 2 køn, og aldersmæssigt rækker vi fra 23 til 63.

Thomas Suchy, 45 (Tyskland)
Jeg er billedkunstner, kurator og social arkitekt med base i København. Min kunstneriske og kuratoriske praksis udforsker krydsfeltet mellem menneskelige følelser, sociale strukturer og vores forhold til miljøet og naturen. Jeg arbejder primært med digitalt fotografi og mixed media.
Som partner i Dark Gallery CPH er mit mål at skabe meningsfulde oplevelser samt en platform for dialog om samfundsmæssige spørgsmål. Jeg har kurateret en række gruppeudstillinger, både i pop-up-gallerier og digitale formater.
George Doumani, 56 (Australien)
Jeg er fotograf med base i København og har en lang karriere bag mig i modebranchen. I 2019 valgte jeg at gøre fotokunst og lyd til min professionelle fuldtidsbeskæftigelse. Jeg arbejder med filmmusik, lyddesign, videografi samt analog og digital fotografi. Fotoarbejdet har været en rød tråd i mit liv, siden jeg som 11-årig fik et Pentax K1000 i gave. Jeg arbejder både inden for det kunstneriske felt og med dokumentarisk fortælling. Mit primære formål med at være en del af galleriet er at netværke med ligesindede kreative samt at kuratere og udstille.
Sara Bentsaltana, 27 (Frankrig/Spanien)
Jeg er en fransk-spansk billedkunstner, der bor og arbejder i København og Toulouse. I 2023 afsluttede jeg både en bachelor- og en kandidatuddannelse i billedkunst ved Institut Supérieur des Arts et du Design de Toulouse, hvilket jeg gjorde med udmærkelse. Jeg har desuden studeret ved Det Fynske Kunstakademi i Danmark.
Kernen i min praksis er en søgen efter lyset samt et ønske om at udfordre fotografiets grænser for at afdække grænselandet mellem det synlige og det usynlige. Mit arbejde kredser om naturens og lysets spirituelle dimensioner, hvor jeg forsøger at kommunikere med det, der ikke længere er til stede, og indfange det, der ikke kan ses.
Mine værker har været vist på både solo- og gruppeudstillinger internationalt, blandt andet The Silver that Kissed the Sliver that Persists på dette galleri, Rencontres Internationales Traverse Video og Experimental Photo Festival.
Jeg har desuden haft art residency-ophold som gæstekunstner ved CONNECT 2 (kunst og videnskab) i samarbejde med Universitetet i Toulouse og CNRS samt Koganecho AIR-programmet i Yokohama (JP).
Gennem mit samarbejde med Dark Gallery søger jeg at skærpe mine kuratoriske kompetencer og være med til at vise verden potentialet i slow-fotografiet.
Kim Wyon, 63 (UK/DK)
Min kunstneriske praksis strækker sig over flere årtier og har fulgt en eksperimenterende vej fra 90ernes interaktive digitale installationer og skiltning i det offentlige rum til aktivisme, ekspressionistisk shodo, vild comix-malerkunst og flagkunst. I de senere år har mit analoge kunstfotografi fokuseret på interaktiv historiefortælling, ofte med lyset som en performativ del af den kuraterede oplevelse.
Jeg har desuden været initiativtager til flere uafhængige udstillingssteder, herunder Dark Gallery CPH, hvis mål er at blive Københavns første fuldt kunstnerdrevne galleri for fotografi og film.
Mit personlige fokus i Dark Gallery CPH er at udvikle fotografiske mikroprojekter, der forbinder galleriet med det omkringliggende offentlige rum.

Maryam Mazaheri, 45 (Iran)
As an engineer and lighting designer, I am always seeking the connection between my technical approach and my love for art. I believe that even the most technical features can hold artistic value. Through photography, I explore the interplay between light and darkness, their coexistence is what allows us to see, and their complexity creates shadows that range from soft to hard, inviting us to think in new ways. With Dark Gallery CPH, I aim to showcase light and darkness as powerful mediums, appreciating their presence and impact in real life. It is also a space for experimental photography, where I push boundaries and explore new ways of seeing the world.
Ivan Aguilar, 46 (Mexico)
I am a landscape and street photographer working with analogue and instant films. I prefer the analogue process because it helps me be intentional from the start, forcing me to reflect on the message I want to convey and making me more critical of what I aim to capture.
Through my photography, I aspire to uncover the hidden poetry in relatively ordinary moments and objects. I try to derive from them a dream-like narrative—incomplete yet highly suggestive. I prefer not to photograph people but instead explore mostly desolate natural or urban landscapes, whether real, staged, or imagined. My choice to work in black and white helps me avoid colour taking too much prominence and supports the solitude I seek to evoke.
By joining the gallery, I hope to collaborate with fellow photographers and be part of a creative network that both inspires me and challenges my photographic vision.
Claudia Dons, 45 (Denmark)
I’m a Danish photographer with a BA (Hons) in Photographic Art from the University of Westminster in London. For more than 20 years, I have worked in commercial photography, telling visual stories for clients—but I’ve always missed the freedom of artistic exploration.
Through Dark Gallery CPH, I want to reconnect with that creative side, dive deep into personal projects, and experiment with different approaches to photography. I’m drawn to the quiet tension between stillness and story – and how a single image can hold emotion, memory, and meaning just beneath the surface. For me, photography is a way to explore, to play, and to connect—with ideas, with others, and with myself.

Being a mixed-raced Black Brazilian woman, I have always been interested in the superposition of images. My professional experience started with computer programming in the 80’s, I was then a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer for over three decades. In 2019, after a BA (Hons) in Ceramic Design from the University of the Arts London, Saint Martins College, I became a cross-disciplinary ceramic based artist.
Two of my cross-disciplinary projects were recipient of grants in 2005:
Through the Enchanted Gardens funded by the Arts Council England, the City of Nottingham and The Danish Cultural Institute. Black Wings funded by Arts Council Norway (Britt Smelvær), Arts Council England East Midlands.
As a new arrival at Dark Gallery CPH, I hope for two things initially: to be seen and to be fierce.
Camila Garcia Dominguez, 23 (Mexico)
A Mexican photographer with a passion for photography and film. With a background in Fashion Marketing from Istituto Marangoni in Milano, Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy, and photography from Canon Academy in Mexico City. Bringing together these creative worlds from past studies I aim to create visual storytelling through film and photographs. Focusing on street photography bringing together culture, music, and humanity.
With Dark Gallery CPH, I aim to connect with other creatives in the industry and get my work known through exhibiting.
Rika Yasui, 41 (Denmark/Japan)
I am a forever curious Danish-Japanese film director and projection artist with a long list of education in the creative field.
I cherish craftsmanship and seek to combine and challenge genres, work methods and ways of thinking as I am drawn to poke at your mindset.
My contribution to the world is to give someone an experience that leads to reflection, discussion or change.
